Day trips
You can find suggestions here for day trips in the vicinity of Solvåg. As Norwegians say: Norway is a ”long” country. However, you will never find that it is dull. Norwegian nature is varied and wild, with fjords, mountains, well-tended farms, and gardens. The air is clean and fresh, and the light helps make for beautiful scenes of nature. Experiences like these are good for body and soul!
Solvåg FjordFerie is the perfect point of departure for any number of nature trips through the woods or in the countryside. The Norwegian Tourist Association has marked many trails in the area.

Mushrooms
Starting in mid-August, you can enjoy mushroom-picking hikes. The season lasts all fall, depending on temperature and rainfall.
With the right recipes, one can make the most delicious dishes.
One can parboil or fry mushrooms with just the right amounts of butter, salt and pepper.
Preikestolen
The trip from Preikestolen mountain lodge Preikestolen is one of the nation’s most gone hiking – over 270,000 people heading out on the breathtaking mountain plateau every year.

Kjerag
Kjerag is majesty in Lysefjord in Stavanger. With its 1000 vertical meters become self Pulpit small. The vertical and polished granite wall has long been admired from the bay, but you want a different experience you should head up to Kjerag plateau and Kjeragbolten.
The Kjerag plateau is arid with much stone and polished rock. The terrain is difficult and demanding, but once you have arrived, you get rewarded. Follow the marked trail from the parking area and tourism center at Øygardstølen.

Old Årdal Church
Old Årdal Church (Norwegian: Årdal gamle kirke) is a historic parish church in Hjelmeland municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village ofÅrdal. The church is part of the Årdal parish in the Ryfylke deanery in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red, wooden church was built in 1620. The church seats about 250 people. The church served this area from its completion date in 1620 until 1919 when the new Årdal Church was completed nearby. Since that time, the church has been used for special occasions such as weddings and concerts. There are two regularly scheduled worship services held at the church each year, one service on Olsok and one other Sunday morning in the summer. The interior of the church is decorated with hand-painted rosemåling.[1][2]

Blåsjø
Europas største vannkraftmagasin.
Ta turen opp til Blåsjø – det største energimagasinet i Norge! Blåsjø har ei overflate på 82 km2, og vert halden på plass av 11 store og små dammar. Damanlegget er ein del av Ulla-Førre utbygginga (1974 og 1988).

Stavanger Oljemuseum
he Norwegian Petroleum museum is a museum for everyone. Its exhibits explain how oil and gas are created, discovered and produced, and what they are used for. The museum also provides information about technological advances and the way petroleum influences Norwegian society.
Original objects, models, film and interactive exhibits illustrate everything from everyday life offshore to technology and dramatic incidents. The exhibit “North Sea Divers” is a new exhibition about the pioneer-divers in the North Sea. Interactive stations, films and texts explain the challenging work the divers

Landa Park
Welcome to a visit in Landa Park and join an exciting journey back in time. Bring your family and experience history up close. The archaeological discoveries at Landa are unique and can point to a history 2,000 year back in time – from the Bronze Age, about 1500 f.Kr, to Migration Period, about 600 AD. During a visit to Landa you can participate in exciting activities for children as well as for adults. We also welcome group visits all year round.

Old Stavanger
Season: all year. Gamle Stavanger (Old Stavanger) is on the west side of the Stavanger harbour and consists of 173 wooden houses that were built in the end of the 1700s and the beginning of the 1800s.
The wooden city of Stavanger is however, much more than just Old Stavanger. The wooden city of Stavanger entails around 8 000 houses in several different styles – from empire, to Art Nouveau and functionalism. The wooden housing is mainly from Stavanger’s settlements prior to the Second World War.
